Certified Nurse Assistant/Aide (CNA)
Nurse Aides assist in the care for the ill or injured by providing basic nursing skills and personal care. Nurse Aides perform patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses. They have a broad range of duties including bathing, walking, feeding patients, making beds, assisting patients in and out of bed, dressing, helping patients with range of motion and activities of daily living. They may provide skin care and observe patient’s physical, mental and emotional well-being
克拉伦登 College’s curriculum is approved by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services to teach the skills necessary for work in a long-term care facility, hospitals, and home health agencies. Instruction includes lecture, lab and clinical training in an approved facility. Students must be over 16 years of age, be able to read, write and speak English.
This course will prepare the student to take the Texas Registry Exam for certification.
Students must take an adult basic education test.
Students must take a 10 panel UA drug screen. Students are responsible for the cost of the drug screen and must be completed prior to the first day of class.
Immunizations: You must provide documentation of the following immunizations prior to registering for CNA. All immunizations must be current including: Current Negative TB Test (within one year) and flu (during flu season: October – May), as specified by the Texas Administrative Code, Title 25, Part 1, Chapter 7, Subchapter B, Rule 97.64
Criminal Background Check
The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services requires that student trainees have not been convicted of a criminal offense listed in Texas Health and Safety Code, 250.006. You will be required to complete a background check in sufficient time for it to be reviewed by the college prior to your first day of class. A background check typically takes 3-5 normal business days to complete. Students are responsible for the cost of the background verification. The background checks must be conducted by www.precheck.com.
